MY STORY

Since I was 8 years old I have had a great interest in art, especially drawing and sculpture. But in my native country art is not a profitable career in addition to being little known and appreciated by people, I even stopped drawing because I did not have family support. After migrating to the United States in search of better opportunities, art for me became a way in which I can express myself better without using words, I just show what I cannot say with words.
When I started high school at Clarkstown High School North, especially in the 10th grade, art for me as an immigrant became my way of expressing myself in this country. I just started to feel that art can connect us all even if we don't speak the same language.
Clarkstown High School North revived my passion for art and showed me that although we are not equal or do not have the same language, Americans and immigrants have the same opportunities... the same passion but different points of view.
The United States for many of us (immigrants) could be a country full of opportunities but many of us leave behind very important people and live with the hope of seeing them again one day...
I don't know how to express myself with words (I'm not very good at speaking) but I know how to express myself through art without having to say a word.
